Özet: Bu makalede pamuk ipliğinden üretilen ve farklı yumuşatma işlemlerine uğrayan düz dokuma kumaşın boyutsal özelliklerinin incelenmesi sunulmuştur. Bu araştırmanın amacı, ultrasonik yumuşama fazında iplik-çekme test metodu kullanarak iç enerjisini sınıflandırmak ve bunu diğer yaygın mekanik yumuşatma işlemleriyle karşılaştırmaktır. Kapsamlı bir deneysel analiz, ultrasonik dalgaların kullanılmasıyla, elde edilen alan geometrisi sabit değerinin (k3) geleneksel yumuşatma metotlarından daha yüksek olduğunu ve sonrasında artık-enerji oluşumunu ve kayıp-enerji düzeni gösterilmiştir. İlki kumaş çekmesine bağlı olarak, ikincisi kumaş havlarının dokuma sürecinde maruz bırakılan dış kuvvetlerle serbest kalmasına bağlı olduğu gözükmektedir. Sonuçlar, ayrıca ultrasonik dalga enerjisinin hav üzerinde daha fazla düzenliliğe yol açtığını ve dolayısıyla kumaşın yıkama işlemine kıyasla daha az dahili enerjiye sahip olduğunu göstermiştir.

Potential geothermal areas are identified through investigation of spatial relations between geothermal
occurrences and their surrounding geological phenomena in western Anatolia, Turkey. The identification

Relation between electrical resistivity and earthquake generation in the crust of West Anatolia, Turkey

Abstract
In this paper, we present a relation between the earthquake occurrence and electric resistivity structures in the crust, in West Anatolia and the Thrace region of Turkey. The relationship between magnetotelluric georesistivity models and crustal earthquakes in West Anatolia, during a period from 1900 to 2000, is investigated. It is found that most of the large crustal earthquakes occurred in and around the areas of the highest electrical resistivity in the upper crust, although rare small magnitude earthquakes are observed in some parts of the conductive lower crust in West Anatolian extensional terrain. The high-resistivity zones may represent rocks that are probably mechanically strong enough to permit sufficient stress to accumulate for earthquakes to occur in western Anatolia and the Thrace region.

Abstract
In this study, the pull-out properties of plain, ribs, and satin fabric weaves were examined. Data generated from these tests included pull-out force, crimp extension, and fabric displacement. It was found that yarn pull-out forces depend on fabric density, fabric weave, fabric sample dimensions, and the number of pulled ends in the fabric. Results showed that the multiple yarn pull-out force was higher than that of the single yarn pull-out force, and that dense fabric had a high pull-out force. Plain weave had high single and multiple pull-out forces compared with those of ribs and satin weaves.
Long fabric samples showed high single and multiple pull-out forces compared with those of short fabric samples. The yarn crimp extension depends on the directional crimp ratios in the fabric, fabric sample dimensions, and the number of pulled yarn ends.

crust in the world and has exceptionally high seismic activity. In this study, shallow and
deep seismic studies were conducted at the Buyuk Menderes graben. These studies
included surface geological mapping and two seismic reflection sections. Detailed modelling
was performed with the seismic study.

Abstract
This paper models the commons as a public good whose
provision can only be lowered as a result of human action.
We compare the equilibrium properties of a commons with
those of a “subscription” public good, and find that in many
respects they are “skew symmetric” with respect to one another.
In a large commons economy, we expect widespread
individual sacrifice of private consumption, with provision
determined at the limit by those with the least, not the greatest,
interest in the good. Making consumption more environmentally
friendly will cause environmental quality to fall
when the community is large. Furthermore, under certain
conditions, equalizing transfers raise public good provision
and might even be Pareto improving.

Tax competition between subnational governments: theoretical and regional policy issues for Switzerland

From a theoretical point of view, tax competition is seen as an economic policy strategy to attract mobile tax bases and firms in order to boost economic development in terms of employment and output growth within the political jurisdiction implementing it. In the literature it is further argued by some authors that (i) tax competition is ‘good’ because it limits public expenditure and thus the State power, since it cuts back on the revenues accruing from business taxation and hence curbs government spending; and by others that (ii) it is ‘bad’ because tax arrangements lead to the erosion of government revenues. This paper focuses on a third, neglected issue, namely that the dynamics of tax competition between subnational governments is such that a local authority will not improve its relative position within the country and none will gain any long-lasting competitive advantages.
